As our community continues to recover from Hurricane Helene, Spartanburg District Five is preparing to reopen schools. As of late last week, all District Five schools have power and our team is working hard to ensure everything is safe for students and staff to return. Monday, October 7 will be a workday for all District Five teachers and staff, to allow for planning and preparation. This will allow for additional time for power to be restored to homes, and for city and county crews to clear any remaining storm debris from our roads.

All District Five students will return to school on Tuesday, October 8, on a two hour delay. The delay is meant to give additional time in the morning to ensure safe travel for buses, student drivers and families, as some roads across District Five may still have debris from the storm.

Two hour delay times are as follows: Elementary schools begin at 9:30 a.m. and middle and high schools begin at 10:15 a.m.

We can't wait to welcome our students back to school and help our community get back to some sense of normalcy. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we recover together!
